Arizona DUI Laws
If you are pulled over for suspicion of DUI, you will have to surrender your license. You will be given a 15-day temporary license. During those 15 days you must file a request to have a Motor Vehicles Division hearing. If you do not request the hearing, your license will be suspended. At the hearing you may be granted a provisional license that allows you to drive for work or education purposes.
First time DUI offenders in Arizona will also face fines, possible jail time, and possible probation. You will spend between one and ten days in jail, and you will pay a $250 fine, plus $500 assessment charges and any court fees or surcharges. Your arrest will cost you well over $1,000. You may be placed on probation and will probably have to attend alcohol treatment classes.
