Queensland May Be In Uncertain Situation

For those moving to Australia, immigration to the country has always been considered as one of the best options that they have. After all, the country’s economy is pretty much on a boom, which means a lot of opportunities for them. Thus, many are enticed to move into the land down under.
And one of the states that have become very popular for many immigrants here is the state of Queensland. The Sunshine State (as it is fondly called by folks here) is well known for its warm climate, which makes it ideal for a lot of businesses to settle here. And the amount of resources here makes it even much better to move in here.
However, while Queensland is considered as one of the most ideal states in the land down under, it is actually far from perfect. As it is, there are many things that the state needs to sort out first. And with the way things are going, a lot of people are starting to worry that this might affect Queensland’s position soon.
One of the problems that Queensland is currently facing is the state of its residential property market. In the previous decades, the state saw its residential market in a significant boom, as people from both the southern states and abroad move in to by property. However, this boom also had a rather interesting consequence, as the rapid growth of the industry has also resulted in higher prices.
Now, experts say that the boom is over, as property prices have reached their highest levels. And industry observers are really not that happy about this one, as it signals that waning of the market. In fact, they have pointed out that people are now starting to leave the state, as housing has become quite expensive here.
Another problem that the state is currently experiencing is worker shortage. Despite the large amount of workers flooding in from abroad, the state still has quite a large backlog to fill. One of the reasons that observers have pointed out for this is the states limited engagement in the government’s 457, or temporary worker, visa to meet its needs.
Thus, various groups have urged the state of Queensland to act out on the situation. They have said that the state needs to regulate the property market in order to attract more people. On the other hand, groups have also urged the state to make good use of the temporary worker program in order to cope with its labor needs.
